"Aaron's Gift"
Grade B-

Part 1. Name three techniques an author uses to create character and give an example from the story for each one.
The author creates a character by making Aaron kind and nice to animals which makes him kind of a wimp (his actions) and
he wasn't a very good fighter when he was trying to escape from the older boys. The author also helped explain him by the way he talked (his words) and how he said things and that gave him a voice. The author explained him as fast because he ran away from the older boys really fast and he was a little athletic because he was a good rollerskater. (more actions)
Missing a third way authors create characters.

2. Use each of these vocabulary words in an original sentence that explains something about the story.
You may change the form of the words.

assassinate - The assassin waited on the roof of the building to assassinate the evil boss.

stoop - The small boy sat on the stoop outside his apartment.

frenzy - The workers in the world trait center were in a frenzy when the plane crashed into the side of the
building

mascot - The schools mascot made the crowd get excited and cheer.

thrash - The fish thrashed around because it was hooked on a fishing line.

3. Write a paragraph to answer this question. Be sure you relate your answer to the plot of the story.

Can a person "make up" for terrible things that have happened to someone else?
yes because if the person had a bad child =hood you can make it up to them by giving them a fun rest of their life by helping them do things and letting them see the world and being kind to them. You can make it up by giving them a present, just like Aaron was going to do because his grandma lost her pet goat which was like her best friend when she was little so Aaron was going to give her pidge to make her feel better.
What did Pidge and her goat have in common?
